PROGRAM OVERVIEW
INTRO TO CODING

Overview: Students will develop beginner projects, focused on social impact and community, by using a block-based programming language. The curriculum is focused on introducing students to UI/UX, conditionals, sprites, nested loops, and functions. By the end of the course, students should feel comfortable with algorithmic thinking and be prepared to learn other programming languages.

Target Audience: All students interested in programming can participate in this course, but the materials cater to an elementary school audience. No computer science experience is required.

PROGRAM DETAILS
  • Our program is designed for curious and creative elementary school students with little to no coding experience. All they need is a passion for learning and a desire to make a positive impact.

  • Using a block-based programming language, students will embark on the journey of creating beginner projects centered around social impact and community. Our curriculum introduces young learners to fundamental programming concepts such as UI/UX, conditionals, sprites, nested loops, and functions.

  • By the end of the program, our students will not only have completed their own social impact projects but also developed comfort with algorithmic thinking, preparing them to learn more complex programming languages. We encourage students to think "in code" in their daily life, fostering a mindset that sees solutions and opportunities everywhere.

  • We offer flexible program formats, accommodating various learning styles and schedules:

    Synchronous: These are real-time, teacher-led sessions that allow students to interact, ask questions, and get immediate feedback.

    Asynchronous: For students who prefer learning at their own pace, we provide on-demand, teacher-led videos and a companion notebook filled with engaging activities and exercises.

    Both formats provide an immersive and engaging learning environment where students can unlock their potential and develop a lifelong love for coding.
