  • 1) Are there specific requirements in order to be a volunteer at CYD?

    Nope! As long as you are passionate about fulfilling our mission, fill out our volunteer form (link here) and we will reach out to you shortly!

    2) I live in another state/country. Can I still volunteer at CYD?

    Yes! We have plenty of remote volunteering opportunities! Just note on the volunteer application that you would like to volunteer remotely.

    3) What would I be doing as a CYD volunteer?

    That depends! If you are interested in teaching, you will be able to TA our wonderful students and assist our teachers in the classroom. Otherwise, you can also work on running a nonprofit organization through administrative work, participating in curriculum development, marketing our organization, or helping with our fundraising plans.   • 1) How much does it cost to enroll in a CYD program?

    CYD is free for all students! If you are interested in bringing CYD to your organization, please reach out to us to learn more about various costs.

    2) Do you offer financial assistance?

    While our programs are free, we understand that there may be other incurring costs, such as transportation. We provide student stipends depending on the program availabilities.

  • 1) How does CYD use donations?

    CYD is mostly operated by donations - your contributions go directly to provide supplies for students, pay teachers, and administrative costs. To view the specifics of how our donations are distributed, check out our Donations page.

    2) Are there other ways to support CYD instead of donations?

    Yes - there are many other ways to help CYD! You can also host a fundraiser (online or in person); this option is available on our donation page. You can also help by joining our amazing volunteer team! To learn more about volunteering opportunities, check out our Volunteers page.

    3) My organization/company wants to make a donation. Is that possible?

  • 1) Who does CYD serve?

    CYD serves high-need communities, whether it be students from low-income backgrounds to incarcerated individuals, with computer-science knowledge to help lessen the tech gap.
